Budgetts Frog
(L. laevis)
Named for the scientist that first described the genus in 1899, Budgetts frogs are generally light olive green in color, sometimes with lighter green or yellow mottling. They have a rounded, flattened body with eyes set high on their head, which allow them to remain submerged underwater with only their eyes exposed lying in wait for their prey. They do not have teeth but they do have two sharp protrusions inside their large mouth which serve the same purpose.
